Character Concept Arts

Oh it's me!

This character design emerged from a two-week case study inspired by one of my favorite artists, Christophe Young. My goal was to extract valuable insights and experiences from a single art process video on his page. The journey was both amazing and challenging, but the key takeaway was learning new techniques. Specifically, I delved into lighting effects and experimented with outlining intense light effects—something I had been hesitant to explore in my previous works. Make sure to read the challenge section to understand the process and struggles I had to endure to achive all the valuable XPs.

#1 - The first major challenge I encountered was following a non-captioned, commentary-free SpeedPaint video by Christophe Young. Despite the absence of guidance, I successfully implemented the techniques I observed in my own work.

#2 - So the workflow was somehow new to me and at some point I realized I was fully lost But I tried to be positive and captured all the steps in the shots here.

#3 - The line Art is the core of this artist's process and I realized my app Photoshop is not doing a good job maintaining my lines.
